Scarborough Old Town 10 circa 1900
The waterfront to the left is known as the Lancaster flat. The slipway was swept away when the road was extended. Where this slipway stands there are now the surge arches for the inner inner harbour near Vincent pier. This slipway marked the end of Edmund's shipyard - once owned by the Tindall family.
The two men have been identified as Mr Lancaster and Mr Anderson with The Lancaster Inn in the background.
