Summer 2008 and an EWS Class 37 visits the scenic coastal Scarborough-Whitby branch line - courtesy Microsoft Train Simulator.

Best viewed in HD - the original video is 1280x720p 30fps.

We join the loco near Seamer, and see it pass Seamer station, the approaches to Scarborough station, and then take the tunnel to the Whitby branch. The video shows the loco passing some of the stations, shows some of the fantastic coastal scenery, and finally shows the descent into Whitby where the loco is serenaded by seagulls.

The route is The Yorkshire Coast Route and was obtained via www.uktrainsim.com

Sadly in the real world the branch closed in 1965, although the Esk Valley route into Whitby remains, as does the Grosmont-Pickering branch (also part of the same MSTS route) as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, albeit truncated at Pickering.
