On 14 September 1941 a single plane released two bombs over Prospect Mount Road and Woodland's Ravine. One bomb demolished two houses (1 and 3 Prospect Mount Road.) The other fell at the side of the Woodland's Ravine railway bridge. Flames from a fractured gas main shot 40 feet into the air. Apparently no one in the houses was seriously hurt but a lady cycling past was killed instantly.
My Grand-Parents purchased the rebuilt property no.1 after the war.
