Temporary schools were held in Milton Church Hall for girls from 1912 and infants from 1915. (See DS 28). A new school opened in 1928 and became a senior school in 1931. It was renamed Milton Secondary Modern for Girls in 1946, and became Meon First and Middle Schools in 1975.

The school building is now home to Meon Junior School.
