Redworth Secondary Modern and its neighbour, the Totnes High School for Girls which shared the same site merged in 1966 to become the King Edward VI Comprehensive School. The new comprehensive school was named after the former boys' grammar school, founded in 1553 at 'The Mansion House' on Fore Street in the town. The school is now known as King Edward VI Community College.
