Photographed is Tessa Jowell, Labour's runner-up candidate being interviewed by the media at Ilford Town Hall during her first political foray. On this occasion she lost Labour's majority to the Conservatives however she was eventually elected Member of Parliament for Dulwich at the 1992 general election
