Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway

London, Midland and Scottish Railway LMS Fairburn 2-6-4T loco no. 42085 built in 1951 at Brighton loco works. In its early days at the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway 2085 carried the Caledonian Railway blue livery, complete with an oval brass Caledonian number plate. While this attractive livery was popular with the public, it strongly divided opinions in the preservation movement for its inaccuracy. It has since been repainted in BR lined black with an early BR crest  - see LINK here.
