Uplands School, Scalby

Moto: Ut Pegasus Surgere (As Pegasus Rises)

The preparatory school operated between 1953 and 1965 at 'Friedensthal' which had previously housed an Adult School Guest House that had been run by the Society of Friends from 1904 to 1920. Hay Lane House, across the road, served as a boarding accommodation for the school. 'Friedensthal' has since been demolished to make way for residential housing. Hay Lane House remains as a private dwelling.
